Reclaim The Frame x Vagina Museum present Girls Will Be Girls
Regent Street Cinema hosts a special collaboration from Reclaim The Frame and The Vagina Museum to celebrate the theatrical release of Girls Will Be Girls, with a post-screening creative collaging workshop inspired by the film.
Film synopsis: In a strict boarding school nestled in the Himalayas, 16-year-old Mira discovers desire and romance; but her sexual, rebellious awakening is
disrupted by her mother, who never got to come of age herself. The feature will include descriptive subtitles and an optional AD track enabled (three headsets available).
Content notes: This film features strong sexual content and moments of sexual threat.
After the screening, guests will be invited to create individual or collective collages from a range of inspiring materials based on Shuchi Talati’s Girls Will Be
Girls. Experiment with a variety of textures, shapes, and colours as we explore sexuality and experiences related to South Asian girls and women. Materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your own, including found objects to repurpose. This interactive workshop will be hosted by Theeba Krishnamoorthy,
volunteer at the Vagina Museum, PhD researcher, and author of the thesis A Qualitative Exploration of Sexuality Education and Experience of Young Sri
Lankan Tamils in the UK.
