28th MADE IN PRAGE FESTIVAL GALA: Waltzing Matilda (Subtitled) + Q&A
Actor Karel Roden (The Bourne Supremacy, RocknRolla), director Petr Slavík, and producer Nataša Slavíková will introduce the UK premiere of Waltzing Matilda and participate in a Q&A afterward at the 28th Made in Prague Festival Gala Screening. Karel, a successful lawyer, has his orderly world upended when his free-spirited, bohemian mother, Matilda—a former bar singer—loses her apartment and moves in. Out of duty rather than love, Karel cares for her, with the reluctant help of his carefree son, as Matilda's Alzheimer's diagnosis changes everything. Inspired by true events and named after the Tom Waits song celebrating resilience, this tragicomedy masterfully combines sharp humour from the clash of three generations with poignant moments as illness binds a fractured family.
