Context

The Regent Street Cinema is an independent cinema located on Regent Street, London. Opened in 1848 and regarded as "the birthplace of British cinema", we screened the very first motion picture shown in the United Kingdom by the Lumière brothers’ in 1896. Today, hundreds of years later, we curate the very best of independent and studio films, screening them for audiences in the heart of the city.

The newly created role of Marketing and Communications Manager at Regent Street Cinema would likely suit a candidate who has experience of working as a Marketing Assistant or Coordinator within film exhibition, the wider film industry or general arts/creative space and is looking to develop their career as part of a small, creative team. If you come with experience from a different background but feel you can offer transferable skills, then we would be keen to hear from you too.

The candidate will be joining Regent Street Cinema at a particularly exciting time of growth and evolution as we establish our venue within London’s cinema landscape. The Marketing and Communications Manager will play a key role in supporting the next stages of Regent Street Cinema’s ambitious audience development plans.

Regent Street Cinema’s Marketing and Communications Manager will be immersed within a busy, working cinema which sits at the heart of London’s film industry. Regent Street Cinema works with a wide range of partners including Netflix, 20th Century Fox, Apple and BBC. We also frequently welcome collaborators from the creative and cultural industries; hosting some of London’s most exclusive events from the world of fashion, food, theatre and television.

Regent Street Cinema operates a hybrid working policy with a minimum of three days per week in our office in Central London (typically Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday – but flexibility is required) and two days per week remote working. Some evening work may be required with time off in lieu offered in return.

Regent Street Cinema is a part of the University of Westminster. The University requires all postholders to have an understanding of individual health and safety responsibilities and an awareness of the risks in the work environment, together with their potential impact on both individual work and that of others.
